NBC Newsreader Brian Williams Coolly Defies Fire Alarm Disruption (Video)

VIDEO: Newsreader Stays Cool Despite Fire Alarm

Journalists around the world brave war zones, natural disasters and adverse working conditions, often having to stay composed no matter what the situation.

But rarely do they face such challenges inside the comfort of the television studio.

Only moments into Tuesday night's broadcast, NBC Nightly News host Brian Williams was interrupted by the most annoying of everyday office annoyances – the fire alarm.

Williams did not flinch as the network's studio's fire alarm wailed behind him, instead he coolly continued to read the grim news of American Airlines' bankruptcy before throwing to a correspondent, quipping, "We should advise our viewers there's no danger to us, we'd love to make it stop."
