Randers, in central Denmark, has enforced the regulation after a number of nurseries stopped serving the meat because Muslim children would not eat it.
The council in question said: "Danish food culture as a central part of the offering – including serving pork on an equal footing with other foods."

The story has been picked up by the right-wing Danish People’s party (DPP) and echoed by similar groups around Europe such as Britain First.
A DPP spokesman said: "The DPP is working nationally and locally for Danish culture, including Danish food culture, and consequently we also fight against Islamic rules and misguided considerations dictating what Danish children eat."
Predictably the story has caused a storm amongst Britain First's supporters who in their abject rage appear to have discarded commonly and long-known geographical facts and turned their anger on the British government instead....
