OJ Simpson Has Joined Twitter

"I got a little getting even to do."

OJ Simpson has unveiled a new Twitter account hours after fake videos purporting to be from the former American football player went viral.

“If you don’t see it here, I didn’t say it,” the 71-year-old’s new Twitter bio read.

In a video post to the account, Simpson adds: “Hey Twitter world, this is your’s truly... now there’s a lot of fake OJ accounts out there but this one... is the only official one.”

“It should be a lot of fun, I’ve got a little getting even to do. God bless, take care,” he said.

Last Thursday marked the 25th anniversary of the murders of Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, who were stabbed outside her Los Angeles home in 1994.

Simpson became the prime suspect in the murder investigation which became an international phenomenon but he was found not guilty in October 1995.

Simpson was later convicted in 2007 on armed robbery and kidnapping charges.

He was sentenced to 33 years in prison, with a nine years minimum tariff without parole. He was released in October 2017.
