Lake Michigan is probably the most unwelcoming place on earth right now.

Having been struck by the ferocious polar vortex, much of the lake remained under ice until recently.

Now that a thaw is underway the ice is breaking off and is being shaped into balls by the freezing waves.

Brrrrr....
