Knox Has A New Job

NEW YORK -- Amanda Knox has joined the fourth estate. The former student, who was accused of murdering her British roommate Meredith Kercher in Italy in 2007, has started working as a freelance writer for the West Seattle Herald.

Knox, along with then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, was initially found guilty in 2009, then released two years later, then found guilty again in absentinia earlier this year, having refused to return to Italy for a third trial.

Kercher, a 21-year-old Leeds University student from Coulsdon, Surrey, was found with her throat slashed in the bedroom of the house she shared with Knox in Perugia. Prosecutors claimed that Miss Kercher was the victim of a drug-fuelled sex game gone awry.

The fledgling reporter has ben filing theatre reviews and human interest stories for the paper at the behest of its editor Patrick Robinson.

“We approached her originally to give her the opportunity of a normal life,” said Robinson. “We simply asked her as we would ask anyone of that age and stage, if they would be interested in writing for us as a qualified writer of that scale and this level of journalism.”

One of Knox’s reports include a review of a drama school production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Tom Stoppard’s Hamlet offshoot.
