Max Whitlock has made the history books again by earning a gold medal for his performance in the final of the men’s floor gymnastics.

Despite never having made the podium in the men’s floor, Whitlock this afternoon fought off stiff competition to beat Brazil’s silver and bronze winners.

Whitlock impressed the judges with his stunning routine, which earned him a score of 15.633.

The Team GB star became the first Brit to win the men’s floor exercise, after having taken Team GB’s first all-around gymnastics gold earlier in the week.
