Confused passengers were evacuated from Oxford Circus tube station on Friday after a fire alert.
Fire services were quickly on the scene to investigate.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman told City A.M. the service had been called just after 2:15pm and two fire engines from Soho had been dispatched.
They later tweeted:
Passengers were advised to seek alternative routes as the station, which connects the Victoria and Central Lines, was exit only.
Some customers were quick to lambast officials for not giving them any more details about what was happening...
