On Sunday Labour Party leadership contender Yvette Cooper and Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon both offered space in their homes to Syrian refugees.

Last week, the Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipila offered his home to those fleeing the war-torn nation.

And the UK Government is now committing to take in refugees from Syria -- possibly diverting the foreign aid budget to help do so.
