The Ebola outbreak that began in west Africa has now been found in Spain, sparking calls for the UK government to start screening for the deadly disease at airports.

But spreading far faster - thankfully - are the conversations taking place around the emergency.

Time have created this fascinating map using data from Twitter to map mentions of #Ebola around the world between 16 Sept and 6 Oct in 170 countries.

As you can see, Twitter has been filled with talk on the matter since the beginning of the period in question but things absolutely explode at the beginning of October when Liberian man Thomas Eric Duncan became the first person diagnosed with the virus on U.S. soil.

So far Ebola has killed 3,400 people in West Africa although - perhaps unsurprisingly - the US and Europe have been the source of the most tweets.
