Detectives have arrested 12 people in connection with the murder of a man who was knifed to death on Christmas Day.

Paramedics and officers from Sussex Police were called to an address in Beach Road, Littlehampton, at around 9pm on Sunday and found the victim, aged in his 30s, suffering from stab wounds. He later died of his injuries.

A dozen suspects were arrested - some on suspicion of murder - following the incident while forensic officers spent yesterday combing the crime scene for evidence.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Hayes, of Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: "A full investigation is under way into the circumstances surrounding the victim's death.

"A post-mortem is still to take place and the man has yet to be formally identified, as we are very much in the early stages of the investigation.

"We currently have 12 people in custody who we are speaking to as part of our inquiries."
