Angelina Jolie didn’t hold back when it came to picking a wedding gift for Brad Pitt, as according to reports, the actress forked out $3 million on his present - a vintage Patek Philippe watch.

Now, we’re not saying it isn’t a thoughtful gift, but $3 million? Ange, you probably could have bought a private island with that money…

After nearly a decade together, the couple tied the knot at their French chateau last month and Angelina reportedly decided that the timepiece was the perfect gift for her new husband.

According to The Mirror, the 1952 Patek Philippe platinum chronometer was bought by the actress, who then took it into a store to add her own personal inscription, “To Roly From Nessa”, a nod to the film they are currently making together.

George Farrugia, 57, who runs a jewellers on the island of Gozo, where Brangelina are currently filming ‘By The Sea’, tells the paper: “I did inscribe the watch, it was for Brad and it was a rare one.

"Oh yes, it was very valuable.

“I wasn’t nervous about the inscription because I knew I could do the work perfectly.”

After their secret wedding in August, Brad and Ange sold their official snaps to People and Hello! magazines, reportedly receiving $5 million, all of which was donated to charity.

The wedding focussed on the couple’s family and their six kids even helped plan the day, before adding their own finishing touches to Ange’s wedding dress.
