Danniella Westbrook Slams Reports She Has Been Sacked From ‘EastEnders’ As ‘Absolute Lies’

'She didn't get fired she worked her full contract. It's absolute lies.'

Danniella Westbrook has slammed reports that she has been sacked from ‘EastEnders’ after just two weeks as ‘absolute lies’.

The 42-year-old actress has reprised her role playing Sam Mitchell to film scenes for her screen mum Peggy’s funeral.

The Sun had claimed that Danniella was told she would not be returning to the BBC soap after causing problems on set, which she has strongly denied.

The newspaper alleged that Danniella frequently showed up late for filming with her 23-year-old toy boy George Arnold in tow, which reportedly led to him being banned from the set.

A source told The Sun: “It was her last day of filming on Saturday and she won't be back. This is a huge opportunity lost for Danniella.”

But now the former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star has hit back, insisting her return to Albert Square was always only going to be for two weeks of filming.

Danniella’s return will see her reunited with her on-screen brothers Phil and Grant, played by Steve McFadden and Ross Kemp, as well as Barbara Windsor, who plays her mum, Peggy.

The actress has made no secret of her desire to return to ‘EastEnders’ permanently, admitting she’d ‘love’ to return to Albert Square full time.

She told the ‘Loose Women’ last month: “I'm super excited to go back [to 'EastEnders']. It's going to be so nice having all of the original Mitchells back together.

“It's going to be great. To be honest, I'd love to come back to 'EastEnders' full time. It would be fun if Darren Day could play my on-screen husband.”
