Lena Dunham Slams Spanish Magazine For Photoshopping Her Photo: 'Be Honest With Your Readers' (PICS)

Lena Dunham Has Something To Say About Photoshopped Pics
|

Lena Dunham has become the latest famous woman to speak out against magazines for their heavy use of Photoshop.

The ‘Girls’ actress and creator is currently appearing on the cover of Tentaciones, a free magazine inside the Spanish newspaper El País, who have used an old photo of Lena taken in 2012.

However, when she noticed that the magazine had been rather heavy-handed with their digital editing, she shared a photo of the cover on Instagram, telling them to be “honest” with their readers.

Lena wrote: “Oh hello El Pais! I am genuinely honored to be on your cover and so happy you licensed a pic by [photographer Ruven Afanador, who always makes me feel gorgeous…

“But this is NOT what my body has ever looked like or will ever look like the magazine has done more than the average Photoshop.”

She continued: “If you're into what I do, why not be honest with your readers?”

Lena Dunham was unimpressed with the magazine's Photoshopping

Lena is far from the only female star to have spoken out about the use of Photoshop on her pictures.

Back in 2014, Lorde took to Twitter to share her frustration when seeing that pictures of her performing at Lollapollooza had been airbrushed to remove her blemishes.

Similarly, Emma Watson has said in the past: “With airbrushing and digital manipulation, fashion can project an unobtainable image that's dangerously unhealthy.”
