Tom Hiddleston Wants James Bond Rumours To Stop, But Judi Dench Is Backing Him

'I want to just make it stop because I have no power over it.'

Tom Hiddleston has spoken out about rumours he's set to become the next James Bond, and its not looking good for those hoping for him to take over from Daniel Craig

The 'Night Manager' star has said he wants reports claiming he's in the running the role as 007 "to stop", as he has not had any conversations with film bosses about it.

Rumours have been rife that Daniel will not return for a fifth outing as the British spy, after he said he’d “rather slash his wrists” than play him again.

And while Tom hasn't been approached about taking over, he already has the backing of one of the film's long-running stars.

Judi Dench, who played M until 2012's 'Spectre', has revealed that she "would have thought" he would make a great Bond.

"I was there for Pierce's first day and Daniel's first day - and you see the whites of their eyes," she told the BBC. "It's a huge mantle to take on but you're very well looked after."

Other actors who have been linked to the part include Aiden Turner, Idris Elba and Henry Cavill

So many people have asked him about it, Idris will no longer discuss the subject. But while Pierce Brosnan remarked Bond boss Barbara Broccoli wouldn't be happy with a Black Bond, she told HuffPostUK, "I don't know what Pierce is talking about."

Arguably too rugged for the corridors of Westminster where James Bond has to defend his actions, but very, very popular.

What the 'Star Wars' star may lack in stature, he more than makes up for in enthusiasm and appeal. Although the Bond villains might just want to cuddle him.
Taron Egerton(09 of14)

Proved his action hero chops in 'Kingsman: Secret Service' and signing him now would mean Barbara Broccoli and co wouldn't have to worry again for at least a decade.
