Amy Winehouse Dress Sold By Father Mitch On 'Four Rooms', Fans Upset

Mitch Winehouse walked into controversy last night with an appearance on Four Rooms, where he sold one of his late daughter's dresses.

Mitch wanted the sale of the dress to help raise funds for the foundation he and his ex-wife have created in the name of Amy Winehouse, who died last summer.

The singer wore the dress on stage in Rio De Janeiro in January 2011.

But some fans were left uneasy when the dress appeared on the Channel 4 show, which puts forward interesting items for a bidding war by three collectors.

One fan tweeted, "Just not right," while another added "Why not the ashes, Mick?"

Mitch defended his actions, taking to Twitter to explain:

Amy gave that dress to Hopes and Dreams charity 9 months before she passed away. It is not our dress. I was asked to help with negotiations.

So we are not selling Amy's dress. But we will sell others to raise money for kids that need help.

Meanwhile, the dead star's final assets have been published.

Winehouse left almost £3 million following her death last year.

The Rehab singer, who fought a lengthy battle with drink and drugs, left gross assets totalling £4,257,580 when she died last July.

But after debts and tax were paid, it left £2,944,554.

She died from alcohol poisoning at her flat in Camden, north London, with an inquest recording a verdict of misadventure.

The 27-year-old singer, who had two hit albums during her lifetime, had not made a will and the money goes to her family. Her father Mitch is the administrator of her estate, according to newly-released probate documents.

Amy's former husband Blake Fielder-Civil does not receive any of the estate.
