Lewis Capaldi has walked away as the big winner at this year’s Brit Awards

The Scottish singer won two awards at Tuesday night’s ceremony, including Best New Artist.

Lewis and British rapper Dave had entered the evening with the most nominations, with four each.

And while Dave only took home one, he was awarded the biggest prize of the night with PSYCHODRAMA named Album Of The Year.

He also delivered one of the performances of the evening, with a politically-charged rendition of his single Black, which took aim at prime minister Boris Johnson and the media’s treatment of Meghan Markle

On an evening that had referenced the lack of female nominees across the non-gendered categories, Mabel and Billie Eilish were the only women to win, taking home Best Female Solo artist and Best International Female Solo Artist respectively.

British singer/songwriter Celeste had previously been announced as the recipient of this year’s newly-renamed Rising Star prize, after beating fellow shortlisters Beabadoobee and Joy Crookes.
