Laverne Cox and Caitlyn Jenner have praised each other from afar for months but, on Sunday, the two women finally got to meet.

The duo were united for the first time at a special friends-only screening of Caitlyn’s upcoming E! series, ‘I Am Cait’, and Laverne couldn’t resist sharing a stunning snap on Instagram.

The actress added the caption: “@caitlynjenner and I finally met in person at a special private advance screening of #IAmCait. #TransIsBeautiful #girlslikeus #caitlynjenner.”

She also shared a group shot, of herself with Caitlyn and a number of other pals:

When Caitlyn, who was living as Bruce at the time, announced her decision to come out as transgender in April, the ‘Orange Is The New Black’ star applauded her courage and bravery.

"Sending lots of love and support of #BruceJenner and their family tonight,” she wrote on Twitter. “It is always brave to stand in one's truth. Congrats darling."

The two women have publicly praised each other frequently since Caitlyn introduced to herself to the world in June on the Vanity Fair cover, and Laverne posted a moving Tumblr note when the already-iconic cover was revealed.

“Caitlyn looks amazing and is beautiful but what I think is most beautiful about her is her heart and soul,” she wrote.

"The ways she has allowed the world into her vulnerabilities. The love and devotion she has for her family and that they have for her. Her courage to move past denial into her truth so publicly. These things are beyond beautiful to me.”

Last week, Caitlyn name-checked Laverne in her moving ESPYs Arthur Ashe Award acceptance speech.

In light of recent controversy surrounding McDonald's treatment of the company's employees, one Washington franchise of the fast food chain impressively allowed transgender individuals to use the bathroom that corresponds with their gender identity. The letter read,
We respect the rights of all customers and employees. We believe all people must have access to safe and dignified bathroom facilities regardless of their gender identity or expression. Therefore, the following policy has been adopted for this restaurant at 1530 3rd Avenue ... Employees and customers may use any restroom that corresponds with and is based upon the gender identity they publicly and exclusively assert or express.

Other states also met these bills with resistance, with one Arizona lawmaker, John Kavanagh, attempting to push through legislation that would prosecute transgender people for using a public restroom if their appearance didn't match the listed gender on their identification. One local new station dubbed this the "Show Me Your Papers Before You Go Potty" bill. The backlash convinced the lawmaker to tone down the language of his bill, and put it on hold until next year.
