As one of TV's best known faces, Eamonn Holmes' long career in broadcasting has spanned many highs and lows.

As a journalist, Holmes doesn't fear tackling big issues or asking tough questions -- but with omnipresence comes the risk of controversy.

And on Wednesday, Eamonn Holmes said interviewing Jeremy Corbyn was like "clubbing a seal" - despite the Labour leader giving a calm and measured performance in the face of some rather odd questioning.

Appearing via video link from Brighton beach, the Labour leader was told he was a "hippy", he "hates the Tories" and that solving the crisis in Syria is the same as managing a football team.

But it's not the first time the Sky News 'Sunrise' host and regular 'This Morning' presenter has been involved in confusing, embarrassing, and even offensive encounters...

Controversial columnist Samantha Brick looked momentarily tongue-tied when Holmes looked her dead in the eye and asked her if she believed she was beautiful.

It came after Brick wrote a column in which she described her experiences of sexual harassment.

Recovering her composure, Brick answered: "Do I think I'm attractive? Yes, I do."

Holmes mocked fellow presenter Jonathan Wilkes on 'This Morning' after he said he was not very knowledgeable about the UK’s geography.

The incident – which was laughed about on air – occurred during a newspaper review section of the show.
