New photos from behind the scenes on ‘EastEnders’ show actresses Lacey Turner and Gillian Wright reunited on the soap for the first time since 2010.
Both actresses are returning to the soap after a period of absence, though while Gillian - who plays Jean Slater - is only back for a brief stint, Lacey - whose character Stacey Slater is currently awaiting trial for the murder of Archie Mitchell - is back in Walford on a permanent basis.

The pair’s first scenes together don’t exactly look like a barrel of laughs though. From what we can gather Stacey is at her mum, Jean’s side as she lies in a hospital, but it’s good to see the actresses are enjoying being back on the soap, as they were snapped laughing in between takes.
It was revealed that Lacey would be making her soap comeback last year, with her character cropping up in new scenes back in February before disappearing again in March. When these scenes air, however, it will mark the beginning of the actress’s full-time return to the soap.

Since leaving ‘EastEnders’, Lacey has had lead roles in TV dramas ‘Bedlam’ and ‘Switch’, and starred opposite David Tennant and Billie Piper in ‘True Love’.
Ahead of her return to Albert Square, she said: “I may have left 'EastEnders' over three years ago but the show has always been in my heart, as has Stacey, and she has never really left my side.
"I am so excited about returning and seeing what the future holds for her. It's been a while since I set foot in Albert Square and I am looking forward to coming home."
