Engelbert Humperdinck On The Dukan Diet Ahead Of Eurovision

Engelbert's Tough Eurovision Diet

Engelbert Humperdinck wants to look his best as he sings to millions at the Eurovision Song Contest - so he's taken up the Dukan diet and embarked on a new exercise regime to drop the pounds.

The legendary entertainer will belt out new track Love Will Set You Free at the show in Azerbaijan in a couple of weeks - but he's been preparing for his star turn for months.

Engelbert has dropped 16 months in the past month alone by embarking on the high-protein meal plan, and he's also taken up walking and jogging to slim down.

"I do have a routine and normally first of all I get on the treadmill and try to work out a bit. I want to keep my weight down. I walk around a three mile area around the house on the street. I will pass the pub in the village and get some fresh air. And I eat yogurt and I take vitamins for breakfast.

"I have been really persevering with my diet and in the last month I have dropped 16 pounds. I want to look good when I do Eurovision. I don't want people saying, 'He has a paunch'."

The 76 year old showed off his new figure in the newspaper - and he showed off his sprawling Leicestershire estate too.

The property boasts its own pub, and the singer has filled the grounds with traditional British items such as a red phone box.
