Hillary Clinton Divorce: Split With Bill Is A Hoax

It's happened before. It'll probably happen again.

A day after Hillary Clinton lost the Presidential election to Donald Trump, she filed for divorce from her husband Bill.

At least that’s what Christian Times Newspaper would have you believe.

“Bill Clinton just got served – by his own wife”, states the piece, citing alleged court documents from the Supreme Court of the State of New York for Westchester County.

It goes on to claim “irreconcilable differences” are the cause of the split between the couple, who have been married since 1975.

The story has already been debunked by the internet sleuths at Snopes, who point out the website, which imitates the name of the genuine newspaper The Christian Times, “nearly exclusively publishes hoaxes and fake news.”

It also highlights the site’s disclaimer, which reads: “Christian Times Newspaper is your premier online source for news, commentary, opinion, and theories. Christian Times Newspaper does not take responsibility for any of our readers’ actions that may result from reading our stories. We do our best to provide accurate, updated news and information.”

It’s not the first time the Clinton marriage has been subjected to this sort of hoax.

Back in 2014 an online publication entitled the National Report filed a virtually identical story, claiming she had filed for divorce in order to pave her way towards the presidency in 2016.

An unnamed White House staff member is alleged to have told the newspaper: “Being divorced form the Monica Lewinsky-White House scandal mogul should clear the way for Hillary to assemble a bullet-proof campaign.”

On Thursday Hillary and Bill Clinton were spotted peacefully walking their dogs together in the woods north of New York. Hiker Margot Gerster ran into the couple just hours after the former Secretary of State conceded to Trump.
