I'm A Celebrity's Jessica Plummer Takes On Critics Who Claim The Castle Is Easier Than The Jungle

Did this year's celebrities really have an easier time than past campmates?

Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! campmate Jessica Plummer has hit back at claims that this year’s stars are getting an easier ride than contestants in past series.

While the ITV reality show has taken place in the Australian jungle for almost 20 years, this year producers had to move the show to a ruined castle in Wales, due to travel restrictions.

Obviously, this led to some big changes to the way things usually run, leading some critics to question whether the castle residents have had it easier than past competitors.

However, former EastEnders star Jessica has insisted this is far from the case.

“We’re in Wales, we’re not in Australia, it’s not 30 degrees,” she told The Sun. “We are freezing cold the whole time.

“All of us had thermals. I wore three pairs of socks at one point. I asked for boots that were two sizes bigger so that I could fit in.”

She added: “It wasn’t till I just kind of surrendered to it that I think I really started to just enjoy the process.”

Just four celebrities remain in the castle, with Giovanna Fletcher, Vernon Kay, Jordan North and Shane Richie left in the running to be crowned the first ever King or Queen of the Castle.

Although the change of location has led to a number of big changes, viewers are in for a treat when the iconic Celebrity Cyclone trial returns in Thursday night’s episode.

I’m A Celebrity continues at 9pm on ITV.
