Neil Patrick Harris Launches US Version Of 'Ant And Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway' With Undercover Prank On Judges Of 'The Voice' USA (VIDEO)

Neil Patrick Harris Launches US Version Of 'Ant & Dec's Takeaway' With This Amazing Prank

Ant and Dec appear to have taught Neil Patrick Harris the art of pranking very well, judging from the ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star's antics, to launch the US version of ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’.

Neil, who is fronting the show, appeared in a hilarious clip, in which he punks the judges of ‘The Voice US’.

The presenter poses as Jurgen, the 'host' of the Austrian version of talent show, conducting some cringe-worthy interviews with coaches Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams and Blake Shelton.

He then had a go at a blind audition, but his terrible rendition failed to impress the judges.

Neil Patrick Harris was unrecognisable as he went undercover

Once their chairs turned around, they were confused to see the supposed Austrian host auditioning.

“What’s you deal?” Adam asked. “So you’re host of the show in Austria? ... This is just f***ing weird.”

Neil then revealed his true identity, leaving the panel speechless.

The undercover prank isn’t the only item from ‘Takeaway’ that has been replicated for Neil’s version.

The host has a mini me, just like Little Ant and Little Dec, while celebrity guests take him on in challenges that the Geordie duo do in Ant vs. Dec, with Reese Witherspoon challenging him in a high-wire challenge.

Nicole Scherzinger also has a small presenting role, just as fellow former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts does on the UK show.

However, there is no chance to win the contents of the adverts, hence why the show hasn’t been named ‘Neil’s Wednesday Night Takeaway’, we guess.

Ant and Dec flew over to New York to oversee the first episode, and actually made a cameo appearance during ‘The End Of The Show Show’, where Neil introduced them to US viewers and thanked them for bringing the show Stateside.

‘Best Time Ever’ made a solid start in the ratings, with nearly seven million viewers tuning in.

It is not currently scheduled to air in the UK.
