The X Factor Semi-Finals

Maloney has never graced the bottom two, as each week Liverpool pick up the phone. It's nuts. Christopher Maloney has just over 100,000 followers on Twitter and Union J had over six times that amount - perhaps this goes to show that the youngsters don't pick up the phone and vote.

It's been a busy semi-final week at The X Factor camp - the finalists belted out two songs instead of one, which means yes - the competition has stepped up...

At the quarters we lost Rylan who entertained us each week with his full-on entourage performances and I salute him for it, I have to say I did miss it this week... Will the nation tune in now the entertainment factor has left? Will they be tuning into Daybreak this week to see his presenting debut?!

On leaving, Rylan told the press that he thinks Chris Maloney will be crowned King... is he right? Maloney has never graced the bottom two, as each week Liverpool pick up the phone. It's nuts. Christopher Maloney has just over 100,000 followers on Twitter and Union J had over six times that amount - perhaps this goes to show that the youngsters don't pick up the phone and vote. Maybe voting online next year could help to encourage the twitter teens to vote?

Unfortunately we learnt on Sunday that teen girls' favourites Union J have left the competition. Awww, I'm pretty sure that despite their exit they will be 'the next big boy-band', as Louis loves to say. I don't think he could have said it any more if he tried...Well, as a farewell, here is Union J's last interview with me. I had the pleasure of talking to the boys backstage about cartoon characters - which of course led to impressions of Donald Duck- and which house they would be in if they attended Hogwarts. We didn't quite have time to cover any current affairs questions which was a shame, as this is strictly entertainment...

I was lucky enough to pop down and watch the The Results Show and I don't wanna brag but it was a pretty good show. The backstage goss is that Nicole Scherzinger does an amazing impression of Britney Spears' Oops I Did it Again and Gary Barlow gets pimped out to give out hugs to some of the lucky audience members. Last night this included Keith Lemon, who on hugging the Barlow exclaimed "I've just shit me-self." Nice.

Rod Stewart performed his Christmas song with the finalists, and my God was he awesome - that croaky voice that all mums love was very impressive. Tulisa also performed her new song, which is actually pretty catchy, and superstar Pink popped down to sing 'Try'.

But of course, the bit we were all waiting for was the results. You could have cut the tension with a knife! The finalists pre-show were pretty nervous and you could tell, poor things.

TalkTalk hosted a secret gig earlier this week and here is James Arthur talking to me about how inspiring he finds pizza and doing a pretty good impression of fellow contestant Chris Maloney...

So, who is will be crowned The X Factor Winner 2012?! I just cant call it- three very diverse acts- James Arthur is a refreshing talent, as is Jahmene with his insane power voice- but could Maloney pip them to the post and actually win it? For his Nan?! Tune in next week. You know you want to.
