Rixton frontman Jake Roche has slammed Zayn Malik, over his treatment of ex-fiancée Perrie Edwards.

Jake - who recently got engaged to Perrie’s Little Mix bandmate, Jesy Nelson - has branded the former One Direction singer a “f***ing idiot”, panning him for his behaviour towards his ex.

Speaking to The Sun, he explains: “I think he’s a f***ing idiot. The way he’s treated her is horrible. He’s not a very nice man. Professionally he’s talented but - and I’m speaking from what I’ve seen - he should be ashamed.”

The ‘Me And My Broken Heart’ singer has specifically criticised Zayn for throwing shade at Perrie on Twitter, when he retweeted a message saying that he preferred rival girl group Fifth Harmony’s single ‘Worth It’ to Little Mix’s ‘Black Magic’.

He adds: “It’s not about treating a woman like that, it’s about treating a human like that. It’s disrespectful. And the whole re-tweeting thing. He finished with her! Why antagonise it? It’s done!

“It’s a shame. He’s talented but he’s spoiled it.”

Jake adds that he’s currently trying to set Perrie up with Rixon’s guitarist, Charley Bagnall, though given how well her Little Mix bandmates have been supporting her during her break-up, we doubt that something she wants - or needs.

Earlier this month, Perrie told 'Late, Late Show' presenter James Corden about her split from Zayn, revealing: "We’re having an absolute blast in America. Things are going so well and I just wake up every day and I thank my lucky stars I have these three girls."
