'Downton Abbey' claimed the evening's biggest prize at the National TV Awards, scooping the prize for Best Drama from 'Sherlock', 'Merlin' and 'Doctor Who'.
The hotly-contested Award for Best Serial Drama (which everyone in the real world knows as a 'Soap') went this year to 'Coronation Street'.

It was a good night for the cobbles, with Alan Halsall beating his 'Corrie' co-star Michelle Keegan to take home the Best Serial drama performance, after a tumultuous year for his character Tyrone.
Best Talent Show was 'Strictly Come Dancing' with the gong collected by a triumphant Tess Daley.
Ant and Dec kept the bookies happy with their continuing reign on the award for Best Entertainment Presenter. This gave them an astonishing twelve in a row - is it time yet to retire this particular contest?
But 'EastEnders' got its own back with the Best Newcomer award going to popular David Witts, for his role as Joey Branning on the Square.
A high point of the evening was when Lord Sebastian Coe accepted a landmark award on behalf of all the Olympians and Paralympians involved in London 2012.
EastEnders' David Witts was the only winner from Albert Square, awarded as Best Newcomer
'Merlin's lead Colin Morgan carried off Best Dramatic Male Performance, while the female version went to Miranda Hart for her role of Chummy in 'Call the Midwife'.
Ashley Roberts and Helen Flanagan collected the gong for Best Entertainment Programme on behalf of 'I'm a Celeb', and Helen, who proved so loquacious during her time in the jungle, for some reason left Ashley to do the talking on this occasion.
Miranda Hart was a surprise win in the Best Performance By A Female for her role of Chummy in 'Call the Midwife'. Although she was absent from the event, she sent a note asking that her award be giving to Gary Barlow, her 'Miranda' co-star, for safekeeping.
Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were popular winners of the Best Daytime Programme for the evergreen 'This Morning', taking home the award for the fourth year.
Performers included Kimberly Walsh, singing Randy Crawford's ballad 'One Day I'll Fly Away', X Factor loser Ella Henderson belting out Cher's 'I Believe' and Pudsey giving it Gangnam style.
