It seems Motsi hadn't been briefed on briefed on the Katya Jones/Seann Walsh saga.

Neil Jones had a priceless reaction after Motsi Mabuse made an awkward comment about affairs on Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing

The professional dancer had been out of the competition for two weeks due to injury and returned to dance with partner Alex Scott, who had performed with Kevin Clifton in his absence.

After Alex and Neil danced the jive on the live show, it led to judge Motsi making a remark that might have been a little too close to home for Neil.

She said: “It’s like seeing a new couple that we (already) knew. But then somebody had an affair… and now the light is back on.”

Neil had an immediate reaction to the comment, awkwardly smiling as he raised an eyebrow, while Alex was also seen laughing.

When fellow judge Bruno Tonioli told Motsi that her comments would make headlines, she said: “You guys know what I mean! You know what I’m talking about!”

Of course, viewers still remember how Neil’s estranged wife and fellow Strictly professional Katya Jones hit the headlines last year when she was pictured kissing her celebrity partner, comedian Seann Walsh, on the street during a night out.

And fans couldn’t help but pass comment on just how toe-curling the whole situation was...

While Neil stood by Katya after her kiss with Seann, the couple went on to announce their separation in August after 11 years together.

They did not blame the kiss for their split though, and suggested their marriage had become more a friendship than a romance.

Meanwhile, Katya found herself at the bottom of this week’s Strictly leaderboard as she and BBC Breakfast presenter Mike Bushell’s Paso Doble scored just 25 points.

Alex and Neil’s Jive was awarded 31 points by the judges, placing them fifth overall.

At the top of the night’s leaderboard was Saffron Barker and partner AJ Pritchard, whose Waltz picked up 39 points.

The couples are all hoping to make it through to next week’s Blackpool special, but one pairing will find themselves eliminated during Sunday night’s results show airing at 7.15pm on BBC One.
