Here's who'll be taking a spin when the new series returns...

The first celebrity guests who'll be putting in an appearance on the new series of ‘Top Gear’ have been announced.

Gordon Ramsey and Jesse Eisenberg will both be joining new presenters Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc in the first episode of the rebooted series, which makes its debut on Sunday 29 May.

The hour-long episode will introduce fans of ‘Top Gear’ to the show’s new presenting team, which also includes Formula One team boss Eddie Jordan, racing driver Sabine Schmitz, motoring journalist Rory Reid and YouTuber Chris Harris.

Both Gordon - who has appeared on ‘Top Gear’ twice previously, in 2002 and 2006 - and Jesse will be interviewed by Chris Evans, as well as taking a lap of the new racetrack at Dunsfold Park in Surrey.

Since Chris Evans took over the helm of ‘Top Gear’, following the controversial departure of Jeremy Clarkson, the BBC have repeatedly been forced to speak out over media reports that things were going poorly behind the scenes.

In fact, The Sun claimed on Thursday (19 May) that the first episode’s guests were brought in at the last minute, when plans to sign up Brad Pitt fell through.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Clarkson - and his former ‘Top Gear’ co-presenters Richard Hammond and James May - announced that their rival motoring show, to be streamed on Amazon Prime starting this autumn - will be called ‘The Grand Tour’.
