Anne Diamond Apologises After 'Jeremy Vine' Caller Drops C-Bomb Live On Air

"Isn’t it amazing how sometimes people can let you down? There’s always one..."

Anne Diamond was forced to apologise while guest hosting ‘Jeremy Vine’ on Wednesday morning, after a caller branded her a “c***” live on air.

The presenter was leading a discussion about how much is appropriate to post of your children on social media, which included contributions from viewers over the phone.

Things got off to a normal enough start as she spoke to “Chris from Blackpool”, who told Anne that he “loved” sharing photos of his daughter on social media, particularly at big milestones.

I think it can bring people together more than anything,” he said, as he and Anne continued their conversation.

However, from nowhere, he suddenly told the presenter: “You’re a big fat c***.”

The phone call was then abruptly terminated, with Anne commenting: “Thank you very much. Right. I do apologise for that creeping in on air. Isn’t it amazing how sometimes people can let you down? There’s always one...”

HuffPost UK has reached out to Channel 5 for comment.

‘Jeremy Vine’ underwent a rebrand earlier this year, having previously been known as ‘The Wright Stuff’, named for its former host Matthew Wright.

During Matthew’s tenure at host, his phone-ins were frequently taken over by prank callers with obscene comments. It wasn’t all bad, though, as he once received a surprise call from George Michael, who weighed in on a story he and the panel had been discussing about his personal life (though he did actually end up swearing live on air himself).

Jeremy Vine hosted his first show at the helm of the Channel 5 panel show in September, where his first guest was Roxanne Pallett, who had recently left the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house embroiled in a media storm.

‘Jeremy Vine’ airs every weekday on Channel 5.
