Ant and Dec will discover that one of them is related to royalty when they trace their family history for a new show.
The presenting duo will make some “mind-blowing” revelations as they delve into their family’s bloodlines on Ant And Dec’s DNA Journey.
As they travel to Ireland and the US, one of them will discover their family has a royal connection – but which of them has blue blood is being kept secret for now.

The pair will also find out that one of their great-grandfathers was a celebrated war hero, while the other will find out that their cousin was a former US female wrestling promoter.
And and Dec’s research will also unearth evidence that one of their ancestors’ bones were deemed “of historical importance”
Of course, they’re not the first stars to find out they’re descended from royalty, as during filming for the BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are? in 2016, EastEnders star Danny Dyer discovered he’s related to Thomas Cromwell, Edward III, William the Conqueror and Henry III.

Of their new show, Ant said: “I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to historical events, so to get the chance to research our family history using our DNA was too good an opportunity to pass up.
“What we find out is mind-blowing and nothing either of us could ever have imagined. It’s something that will stay with us both forever.”
Dec added: “A huge part of this was to find out my heritage, especially on my dad’s side.
“I always thought I knew a fair bit about where I came from but it turns out I was wrong!
“Whilst it was incredible to find out about the past, what was hugely overwhelming was to meet relatives neither of us knew we had. It was a truly amazing experience.”
The pair originally began filming the show in 2018 but had to halt production when Ant was arrested and subsequently convicted of drink driving, later pulling out of all TV commitments for a year.
