EastEnders’ Jessie Wallace Admits She Wasn’t A Fan Of Kat Slater’s ‘Redwater’ Makeover

The old Kat is back 👠

Ahead of her return to ‘EastEnders’, Jessie Wallace has revealed what she really thought of Kat Slater’s ‘Redwater’ makeover and, well, it’s safe to say she wasn’t a huge fan.

Last summer, Kat and Alfie Moon took the lead in ‘Redwater’, their very own spin-off series, which focussed on Kat’s search for her long-lost son.

For the series, Kat underwent a ‘Snog Marry Avoid?’-style makeunder, purchasing an incredible amount of cardigans and suddenly referring to herself as Kathleen.

But when she returns to Walford, Kat will be back in the leopard print and heels we’ve all come to know and love - much to Jessie’s relief.

The much-hyped series was not a hit with fans or critics, and when Kat returns to Walford, it seems that the plan is for everyone to ignore the fact ‘Redwater’ happened (a plan we are totally on board with).

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the BBC has decided not to make a second series.

When Kat returns she won’t be joined by Alfie, and is instead having a family reunion, with Big Mo and Jean Slater.

Shane Richie, who plays Alfie, recently claimed he turned down the offer of an ‘EastEnders’ return.

“I’m in a fortunate position where I can pick and choose what I want to do, and ’EastEnders at the moment, I said no to it,” he said back in January. “I just need to take a break from television and a little break away from showbiz.”

Ramsey Street may seen like one of the most idyllic residences Down Under - well, Lassiter’s explosion aside - but as the clock ticks past sunset, everything changes. Move over, Ann Perkins. Leslie Knope has a new BFF. Yes, it’s her running mate for 2020’s presidential race, Sally Webster.
