A Terrifying Giant Statue Of Ed Sheeran In His Socks Has Appeared In Russia, And It’s Really Quite Something

It's fair to say it's been rather divisive.

He might have sold millions, with countless awards to his name, but Ed Sheeran has just received the ultimate accolade.

We think.

The singer has been immortalised in a 16ft statue, which has appeared in Gorky Park, Moscow ahead of his gig in the Russian city this weekend.

As well as being huge, the statue is a little unconventional in that the Shape Of You singer is lying down, dressed in white shirt, red shorts, sunglasses… and socks.

Needless to say, it’s been rather divisive...

The statue is believed to have been installed as a promotional tool as part of a collaboration between Yandex Music and Warner Music Russia.

Ed is set to perform in Moscow for the first time on Friday at the Otkritie Arena, as part of his ÷ (Divide) tour.

Last week, he spoke about the anxiety he lives wi “every day” since becoming a global star.

The star revealed he feels like “a zoo animal” and has cut his friendship group down to just four friends as he is unable to trust people.

The 28-year-old told The Sun that he struggles with fans constantly taking pictures of him when he’s out in public.

He said: “It makes me feel like I’m not human. But what instantly cuts me off is that you’re having a moment with them which is so genuine and so nice and then at the end they ask for a picture.

“Like if I am eating in a restaurant now, I would prefer to have a private room because if I eat in the public room I have people filming me while I’m eating my food.

“You feel like a zoo animal. I don’t mean to complain, I have a cool job and life. But I just want to avoid that.”
