Melanie Covers 'Antonio' Tattoo With Bandage... And Her Own Name

Melanie Griffith caused a stir over the weekend, when she was photographed with her ‘Antonio’ tattoo covered up by what appeared to be a bandage, suggesting she’s having it removed.
Melanie had the name of her husband Antonio Banderas inked on her arm during their marriage, but after the couple announced back in May that they were splitting up, it seems that the actress has had second thoughts about the tattoo.

And just to really drive her 'not getting upset over my divorce just listening to a lot of Pink and generally being fabulous' point home, Melanie showed photographers that in place of her husband's name, she'd written 'Mel' over her bandage in black ink.
We’re thinking either this is a statement of her new-found independence as a single woman… or she’s letting the world know which judge she’s rooting for in the new series of ‘The X Factor’.

This isn’t the first time since the announcement of her split that Melanie has had us talking about her tattoo. At an event back in June she had noticeably obscured her ex’s name with clever makeup tricks when she was snapped in yet another sleeveless number.
They were young, in love and engaged before they weren't. While Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder were dating, the actor famously tattooed the words "Winona Forever" to his right upper arm. Sadly the relationship did not last forever and when they broke up in 1993, Depp changed the tattoo to read "Wino Forever." (credit:Getty)
