Simon Cowell might still be celebrating the fact that he was the winning judge on this year’s ‘X Factor’, but we have a feeling he’ll be a little less enthused when he sees the viewing figures for the final.
Saturday night’s show managed to draw in an average of just 8.4 million viewers, including viewers watching on catch-up, which makes it the lowest rated ‘X Factor’ finale in a decade.
To put that into perspective for you, that means more people watched Leon Jackson, Matt Cardle and last year’s champion Sam Bailey be crowned winners, than tuned in for the battle royale between Ben Haenow, Fleur East and Andrea Faustini.

The only series to have a lower-rating final was the very first, back in 2004, which saw Steve Brookstein crowned the nation's favourite.
Ben’s winner’s single, a cover of OneRepublic’s ‘Something I Need’, is available to download from iTunes now, with proceeds from the single going towards the charity Together For Short Lives.
