Glastonbury Headliners 2013: Prince Is The Latest Big Name Rumoured

Prince For The Pyramid Stage?

Prince has become the latest star rumoured to headline Glastonbury Festival 2013.

The 'Purple Rain' singer was previously linked to the festival in 2011, however it was Beyonce who took the main spot on the Pyramid stage in the end.

Now the Daily Star claim seven-time Grammy winner Prince will grace our shores for the biggest event in this year's music calendar.

The Glastonbury rumour mill has been turning steadily for a while now. The Sunday Mirror previously reported that The Rolling Stones would headline in 2013, marking their 50th anniversary with a grand last hurrah.

However, those rumours turned out to be nothing more than a hopeful fantasy, when both the band and Glastonbury's press office denied that they were in talks.

Other acts linked to the huge festival - which returns to Worthy Farm on the weekend June 28-30 after a year's hiatus - are Rihanna and the Arctic Monkeys.

If the 'Where Have You Been' singer was asked to headline, she'd happily take to the same stage as Beyonce did...

She was quoted by Q back in 2011 as saying she would love to play Glastonbury, joking that her hit 'Umbrella' would be the "perfect song" for the often rain-heavy festival.

Meanwhile, hope of Fleetwood Mac making their debut at the festival were dashed when the band announced a string of extra US tour dates over Glastonbury weekend. And it was recently confirmed that Daft Punk will not be performing despite ongoing rumours.

This year's Glastonbury is to be live streamed by the BBC for the first time with viewers able to watch different stages as they happen.
