Hugh Grant has not left Bridget Jones's Baby, the film's producers have confirmed.

The actor was reported to have delayed the project because of concerns over the David Nicholls and Helen Fielding script.

But Tim Bevan, co-chairman of Working Title Films, released a statement to deny the claims.

"Reports that Hugh Grant has exited Bridget Jones's Baby are untrue," he said.

"We are still working on the script hence the delay to the start of production, but the film is going ahead as planned."

The film sees the title character (played by Renee Zellweger) trying to have a baby with Mark Darcy (played by Colin Firth), while bad boy Daniel Cleaver (played by Grant) remains on the scene.

It is being directed by Peter Cattaneo.
