Iain Lee has been forced to reconsider his denial he was bullied on ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’ after finding out what some of his campmates said behind his back.
The radio presenter took to Twitter as Friday (15 December) night’s ‘Coming Out’ special aired, which showed extra jungle footage and followed the celebrities as they left camp.
It showed what his fellow contestants had been saying about him, and viewers also saw Amir Khan and Dennis Wise seemingly celebrating when Iain failed to win the ITV reality show.
As Rebekah Vardy publicly thanked Iain for previously insisting he hadn’t been bullied, he said he had since become aware about other comments on the ‘Coming Out’ show.
Iain wrote: “I hadn’t seen the comments made behind my back or the ones made by some camp mates when they left.
“I still suggest the word bullying is too strong. But.”
Iain added he probably won’t be watching the series back, having been left “sad and confused” by some of the clips he’d seen.
“I’ve only watched a few clips of the show. The trials were exhilarating. Other bits made me sad and were very confusing. Probably won’t watch the rest,” he said,
“Still, it was a mainly positive experience despite everything. Glad I did it.”
As fans rushed to defend Iain on social media, calling out Rebekah, Dennis, Amir and Jamie Lomas for their treatment of him, he begged them not to send his fellow campmates abuse in his name.
“Please be polite to anyone connected with the show on here,” he tweeted. “Whatever you think of them please, don’t send abusive messages to anyone. Certainly not in my name.
“If you do and I see, I will block you.”
On the ‘Coming Out’ show, Iain had said: “There was no bullying going on.
“Let’s quash this rumour once and for all. Bullying is a very serious thing. It’s a huge word. There was no bullying whatsoever.”
Rebekah also admitted she had been left upset by the bullying accusations, telling Dennis: “I came out to the biggest shit storm., and you know I don’t get upset about things and you know I’m really strong but I actually cried in the car. It really upset me.”
The former footballer also tried to shift the blame onto Iain, saying: “Obviously Iain was in there to upset everything in the camp and that was his intention.
“If he’s playing a game he’s played it extremely well. He’s obviously done it for his own reasons and that’s up to Iain to explain himself.”
