PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Chart-topping star Jessie J leads the field at this year's Mobo Awards - and said her five nominations were "amazing".

The Price Tag singer was just ahead of Wretch 32, Adele and Tinie Tempah who were each shortlisted for four awards.

The awards take place at Glasgow's SECC on October 5, with US star Jason Derulo among the hosts.

Jessie J is up for best newcomer, best UK act, best album, best video and best song.

She said: "I am so honoured to be nominated. I have watched so many of the artists I look up to being nominated, winning awards and performing - its amazing to be in the company of such amazing talent."

Adele - who has found global success with her second album 21 - is up against Jessie J for best album, along with Chase & Status, Katy B and Tinie Tempah.

The prize for best song will be fought out between Wretch 32, Adele, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J and Chase & Status.

Mobo founder Kanya King said: "We are very pleased with the level of this year's nominees, including many emerging artists, some who have come from backgrounds where they haven't been given a foot in the door, so-to-speak."
