One Direction proved once again they can compete with the best of their international peers, when they scooped two awards at the MTV EMA Awards held on Sunday evening in Frankfurt, Germany.
The world's most popular pack of five won Best New Act, and Best Fans, but were unable to be at the ceremony to collect their awards in person, because they are back on the road, promoting their new album in the US.
Another good night for One Direction
It is perfect timing, with their second album - 'Take Me Home' - released today in the UK. (READ a track by track review here.)
They weren't the most successful artists on the night, however - that honour was shared by Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber, who each collected three gongs at the ceremony, hosted by Heidi Klum.
And the evening was stolen by Psy, who turned up in person to perform his world-conquering 'Gangnam Style'. WATCH him in action here...
