MUSIC BOX: Will.i.am, Britney Spears Number 1, David Bowie At 6, Plus Paloma Faith And Modestep

MUSIC BOX: Has Bowie Made It Into The Top 10?

CHART TOPPERS

David Bowie's surprise comeback track has made it to number six in the UK singles chart, despite fears it could miss out completely.

After finding a way to break down sales of single 'Where Are We Now?' from Bowie's new album 'The Next Day', the song made it into the Official Charts.

However, Bowie lost out on a number one to Will.i.am, who secured his second UK number one single as a lead artist with 'Scream and Shout' - featuring Britney Spears - climbing from number two.

In the album charts, Emeli Sande's debut 'Our Version Of Events' returned to the top days after she earned herself four Brit Award nominations.

GIGS TO LOOK OUT FOR

Partly as a result of his decision to take control of his purse strings and invest much of his fortune overseas to avoid crippling tax demands, Bowie has surged ahead of stars like Sir Paul McCartney in the cash stakes. Even more crucially, Bowie, who is worth a total of 550 million, is one of the few international pop stars who owns all the rights to his songs. Details of the sheer extent and source of 50-year-old Bowie's wealth have been unearthed for the first time by Business Age Magazine. (credit:PA)
