We’ve made no secret of how much we’ve enjoyed nosing around the homes of the rich and famous as they’ve broadcasted from home during lockdown.

However, Penny Lancaster went to whole new lengths to impress viewers as she returned to Loose Women on Monday.

Penny, who is married to rocker Rod Stewart, was back on the panel of the ITV daytime show after nearly seven months off, dialling into the studio from the couple’s UK home.

But instead of settling for just one background that showed off her house on the video call, Penny kept switching rooms between commercial breaks to really give viewers a feel of her palatial abode.

Her antics did not go unnoticed by her co-stars Andrea McLean, Stacey Solomon and Denise Welch either.

After picking up on her first move, Stacey commented: “Can we just appreciate... Penny have you moved rooms? Are you going to be in a different room for each part?”

“I do my best,” she laughed.

When Penny then relocated to the bedroom, Denise was confused by her regal boudoir.

“Penny, do you live in Blenheim Palace or somewhere?!” she asked.

During her return to the show, Penny opened up about entering the menopause during lockdown.

She admitted she had initially confused the symptoms with those of Covid-19, explaining: “I was getting these severe, hot sweats and I thought, ‘I’ve got a temperature, that’s it, I’m going to pass it on to all the family’. Then I was getting freezing cold, then hot, on top of the covers, under the covers and was like, ’ah, this is the menopause’.

“So I was in lockdown entering menopause – my last period was March – so I guess I am officially that age now.

“It’s very confusing,” she added.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
