'Strictly Come Dancing' couple Joe Calzaghe and Kristina Rihanoff have split after four years together, they have confirmed.

The couple - who fell for after being paired on the BBC ballroom competition in 2009 - parted ways 'amicably'.

The former boxer, who won world titles as a super middleweight and light heavyweight, told The Sun the couple had enjoyed 'several terrific years together'.

He said: "She is a wonderful woman but we have mutually and amicably decided to go our separate ways."

Kristina will return to 'Strictly', now in its 11th year, when its returns to BBC One next month.

She said: "It is nothing but amicable, and we will have nothing but good memories and good thoughts about each other."
