Bafta TV Awards 2016: How Can You Watch This Year's Ceremony?

The highlight of the British TV calendar is almost upon us, as the biggest stars from the small screen prepare to descend on London for the annual British Academy Television Awards.

Graham Norton will once again be taking on presenting duties at the TV BAFTAs awards bash, which honours the best TV actors and the shows they’ve appeared in over the past 12 months.

If you weren’t fortunate enough to bag tickets to rub shoulders with television’s best and brightest on Sunday night (8 May), there’s no need to worry, as the BBC have got you covered.

BBC One will be broadcasting the event from 8pm onwards, on a slight delay, as is the case with the regular BAFTAs, which aired earlier this year. You’ll also be able to stream the ceremony on the BBC’s website, using the ‘watch live’ feature on iPlayer.

Additionally, BAFTA will be streaming exclusive backstage interviews and red carpet highlights on their official website.

This year, some of the biggest shows on TV have received nods in the nominations list, from dramas like ‘Doctor Foster’ and ‘Humans’ to reality shows like ‘Great British Bake Off’ and ‘I’m A Celebrity’.

‘Holby City’ goes up against ‘Coronation Street’, ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Emmerdale’ for Best Soap And Continuing Drama, while ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ will battle it out with Adele and Chris Evans in the Best Entertainment show category.

Birdy and Elle King will both be performing, while guests expected to hit the red carpet include Ant and Dec, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, Idris Elba, Suranne Jones, Lord Sugar and Justin Timberlake.
