With the Season 2 finale airing on Sky Atlantic this week, HBO's GIRLS' sophomore season ended on a real high. The final episode (spoiler alert if you are yet to watch) brought it back to basics - the episode was filled with lots of the characters, real charm and effortless Brooklyn style. It's a tragedy that we have to wait until 2014 for our next dose of Dunham-laced genius...

In the meantime, revel again in the best bits of Season 2:

The slanket sleeping bag

In episode two, we see Hannah and Elijah cuddled up on a bed listening to Adam's bizarre 'lovenote' via YouTube. Hannah is wearing a ridiculous blood orange sleeping bag with arms and legs - potentially the best invention ever.

Charlie

So Marnie's wimpy, overly polite and nauseating boyfriend Charlie from the first season is hot in Season 2. Rocking a GQ style inspired wardrobe and perfectly balanced facial hair, he now runs his own online business and swags around his Brooklyn warehouse office - to Marnie's great annoyance and jealousy.

Roberta's pizzeria

The restaurant where Marnie and Charlie have their excruciating lunch in the season finale is Roberta's in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighbourhood. I've been there and it's fabulous - pizza's are known amongst the area as the best and are pun-tastic with names such as Everyday I'm Brusslin' for a brussel sprout special. If you're in NYC, head there immediately (but you might need to queue, as in all of New York).

Cameos

Great performances pop up throughout the second season of the show, including regular Chris O'Dowd back as Jessa's new hubby, Patrick Wilson as a not-so nosey neighbour and Rosanna Arquette as Jessa's boho step mother.

One liners

As in Season one, the one liners just keep on coming in Season 2:.

"I'm an individual and I feel what I feel when I feel it"

"It's a Wednesday night baby and I'm alive"

"You look like a slutty Von Trapp child"

"That is space rape"

"Let's make a sexit"

"Please don't tell anyone this...but I just wanna be happy"

"I hate when people are early - it's so vile"

"You really had no idea that this wasn't meant to be a sexcapade?!"

"I've just been having a little trouble with my mental state these days"

"Let's have the type of night where it's 5am and one of us has definitely punched someone who has been on a Disney channel show"

Marnie's Kanye rap

Marnie sings Kanye West's Stronger at Charlie's work party - enough said. Not embarrassing or awkward AT all.
