Why Does Being a Strong Woman Automatically Make You a B*tch?

Naomi Campbell... Yes, she can get upset if a job isn't carried out to her satisfaction, as is common among other professionals who are passionate about their work. But why does being a strong woman automatically earn you the label of being a b*tch?

In a week where fashion's most powerful women have joined forces as London Fashion Week gets underway, the claws have come out between two major players.

Feisty American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, joined Livia Firth and Amanda Harlech at W London for the screening of Handprint, an environmental fashion film.

But trust me, the notoriously hard to please Anna would not be invited to sit front row at this week's top fashion shows if she was a shrinking violet rather than a go-getting business women with a fierce bob to boot.

I know Naomi Campbell can certainly relate - being more famous for your 'temper' than being a top supermodel.

Yes, she can get upset if a job isn't carried out to her satisfaction, as is common among other professionals who are passionate about their work. But why does being a strong woman automatically earn you the label of being a b*tch?

People can feel intimidated by a woman who is strong, driven and who knows what they want.

To be constantly villanised because of past events is a bit of a cop out too. So is Naomi's former colleague on The Face jumping on that bandwagon?

The claws have come out after exiting mentor Coco Rocha suggested that The Face was in trouble and that she left because of Naomi's 'diva like behaviour.'

Page Six writes 'she did not want to subject herself to more abuse so she left the show.'

Really? Cut her some slack.

Now my sources tell me Coco was asked to leave the show and she was apparently the one throwing her toys out of her pram - giving J-Lo a run for her money in the diva stakes. Gucci bags at dawn, or what?

I'm told: "Coco said the temperature on set had to be exact before she would film." Presumably 21 degrees celsius?

"Coco often stormed off set refusing to be filmed because she did not like the way she was styled. She took a special dislike to Naomi because she would not take her behaviour."

Ouch.

A rep for Coco offered a no comment.

Whatever the case may be, three guesses who is more likely to come out as Cruella Deville?

Having travelled the world on various jobs with Naomi including the This Day concert in Nigeria, I've seen many sides to the model that you might not expect and apart from having a no-nonsense attitude she is incredibly witty, funny and has a big heart when it comes to charity.

Her passion for Fashion For Relief is often overlooked, and people are quick to judge her for all the wrong reasons. So good on her that her Sky Living HD show is getting rave reviews.

It was just announced that Naomi will be taking the show to Australia, it'll be launching in the UK later this month, and she is currently filming the second season of The Face USA.

In the words of Beyonce, "a diva is a female version of a hustler".

There ain't nothing wrong with that.
