It's been a rollercoaster ride in Soapland, and ‘Coronation Street’ kicked off the year with one of the most emotional storylines ever, when the much-loved Hayley Cropper died in January.

While the storyline provided viewers with some of the most emotional ‘Corrie’ scenes ever, there were plenty of other tearjerker moments to come throughout the year.

On ‘EastEnders’, the Carter family wormed their way into everyone’s hearts, and seeing Linda Carter attempt to come to terms with Dean Wick’s shock sexual attack has been heart-breaking.

Watching Fiz and Tyrone realise the error of their ways on Valentine’s Day also gave us a lump in our throats and 'Neighbours’ and ‘Hollyoaks’ have also delivered scenes that have left us reaching for the tissues.
