‘Strictly Come Dancing' Couple Kara Tointon And Artem Chigvintsev Confirm Split

'Strictly' Couple Confirm Split

Kara Tointon and professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev have split, over three years after first meeting when the former ‘EastEnders’ actress signed up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The duo won the 2010 series of the show, and shortly after taking home the glitterball trophy, Kara confirmed their relationship.

Sadly, things haven’t worked out and Kara has now told The Telegraph: “We are not together, we’re fine, but we aren’t a couple any more.

“The reason I haven’t spoken about it is because I hate reading about myself in that way.”

The couple were the subject of split rumours in December 2013, when Artem traveled to the US for work, leaving Kara in the UK.

In recent months, Kara has been keeping busy with work, filming the upcoming series of ‘Mr Selfridge’, in which she’ll star in alongside her sister, Hannah.

After four years on ‘Strictly’, Artem moved across the pond and now stars in ‘Dancing With The Stars’, the US version of the show.
