RuPaul's Drag Race UK: Cheryl Hole Reveals Gemma Collins Impression Was Cut Short In Snatch Game

The Essex queen reveals a reference to The GC's time on Celebrity Big Brother was cut from the final edit.

RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Cheryl Hole has revealed there was more to her Gemma Collins Snatch Game impression than viewers got to see.

During the first ever UK version of the Snatch Game, Cheryl imitated The GC, and was ultimately safe when it came to the judges’ critiques.

However, some were left feeling a little underwhelmed by the Essex queen’s efforts, particularly as Gemma has so many iconic catchphrases and memes to choose from.

This included HuffPost UK’s Ash Percival, who wrote at the time: “If you’re going to pick someone as iconic – and to be fair, obvious – as The GC to do in Snatch Game, there is absolutely no excuse for it to be mediocre.

“And with all the memes floating about on the internet, half the population can master a decent impression – which is more than can be said for Cheryl.”

Speaking on Drag Race UK’s official podcast, Cheryl admitted that there were parts of her Gemma impression that ended up being cut out of the final edit.

“The Snatch Game is intense,” she explained. “There’s so much great content that… the Snatch Game would be an hour long [if it were left in].”

Giving fans a taste of what they missed out on, Cheryl said: “There was a round that I put my sunglasses on and I sat there, and Ru goes, ‘Gemma, what’s the matter, Gemma?’.

“And I was like, ‘Ru I’m fucking gamed out. I’ve had enough of playing games, I’m sick. My producers told me it’d be only three questions and we’re onto round four, and I’m fucking gamed out! I need a bottle of brandy, I’m devvoed I’m still here’.”

And if that reference has gone over your head, you might want to check this clip out, from her infamous stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house…

Cheryl was ultimately shown the door at the end of last week’s instalment of Drag Race UK, narrowly missing out on a place in the final.

Speaking after her elimination aired, she told HuffPost UK: “ I honestly think those three in the final were rightfully deserving. They each have three wins – how could I rob somebody of their place in the final with no wins?

“I mean, I felt like I was deserving of being in the top four, but definitely not top three. If I’d won the challenge, yeah [I would deserve the top three placement].”
