Stormzy has backed Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party in an impassioned video urging people to use their vote to unseat the Tories.

The 26-year-old rapper said he was voting for the first time in his life in the clip posted to Twitter on Thursday.

Lying down and speaking directly to the camera he said: “Today it’s very very important that you vote.

“I know a lot of people can say go out and vote and it’s bullshit but hear me out.

“Man’s never voted, man’s always looked at politicians and thought you are fucking iffy. I don’t trust you lot. You lot don’t do nothing for man in my community and like my circumstance and my mum’s circumstance. But for the first time in my 26 years of life there’s a man who man trusts.

“I wouldn’t use my platform, my voice to say that to you guys if I didn’t wholeheartedly stand by that.

“It’s very clear cut. Jeremy Corbyn is a man of hope, a man of justice, a man of equality and the other guys are fucking pricks so don’t be stupid, go use your vote, serious.”

Since being posted just before 2pm, the video has amassed more than a million views.

Stormzy is not the only famous face to back Labour in the lead up to the election. On Wednesday night Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwell shares a Clean Bandit video in support of Corbyn.

Throughout Thursday, several other celebrities followed Corbyn simply tweeting ‘Labour’, by doing the same.

It’s not the first time Stormzy has been vocal about politics. In November, he called for “piece of shit” Jacob Rees-Mogg to resign after his infamous LBC interview. Rees-Mogg suggested those who died in the 2017 disaster lacked “common sense” for following the London Fire Brigade’s “stay put” policy.

Later that month Michael Gove also faced backlash after tweeting the Vossi Bop star’s lyrics when he said he would registering to vote for Corbyn.
