Ferne McCann has gone under the knife, revealing the results of a secret nose job live on ‘This Morning’.

The former ‘TOWIE’ star decided to undergo cosmetic surgery after life-long insecurity about her nose and repeated online trolling.

She appeared on Monday’s (15 August) edition of ‘This Morning’ to show viewers her reshaped nose.

In a VT airing before she spoke to hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes about her procedure, Ferne explained her decision, saying: “My nose is my insecurity and it’s the easiest thing for them to say. It hurts.

“I’m not getting it done because I want to get closer to being beautiful. It’s not about that. It’s just something that I don’t like, and every day I look in the mirror, it knocks my confidence.”

Ferne was beaming as she then appeared in the studio, claiming she was overjoyed with the results of the operation.

“It’s this one thing that has bugged me my whole life, especially when I was a teenager. When I looked in the mirror, I felt like it was taking over my whole face,” she said.

Asked about if the comments from trolls on social media had contributed to her wanting a nose job, Ferne said: “I’m not bowing down to them, I’m not doing it for them. I’ve had it since I was 12. At senior school, the boys used to call me ‘Goose’. It was way before I was in the public eye and the Twitter trolls.”

She then broke down in tears as she received a message from her mother, who had supported her through the procedure.

Ferne joined the ‘This Morning’ team earlier this year, following her stint in the ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’ jungle in 2015, where she finished third behind winner Vicky Pattison and George Shelley

It was recently announced that Ferne and Vicky will be teaming up for a new series on ‘This Morning’, which will see them go on a Thelma and Louise-style road trip across Italy.

‘This Morning’ airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.

When rumors circulated that Simpson had rhinoplasty in 2006, her initial response was "Everybody's already saying it, so I just don't talk about it." Her dad then acknowledged the surgery, telling Fox News, "Girls have their own ideas. Anyway, there was a real problem with her breathing and that was cured." Ashlee later confirmed it to Us Weekly, telling the magazine, “I was never really unhappy with how I looked, (and) I don’t think I am more beautiful than I was (before). I just see the same old goofy girl I see every day.” (credit:Getty Images)

According to People, the "Hills" star followed up her 2007 nose job and breast augmentation with a 10-hour series of procedures in 2010 that included a mini brow lift, nose-job revision, chin reduction, neck liposuction, buttock augmentation, among others. "For the past three years I've thought about what to have done," she told People. "I am absolutely beyond obsessed." She added, "I was made fun of when I was younger, and so I had insecurities, especially after I moved to L.A. People said I had a 'Jay Leno chin'; they'd circle it on blogs and say nasty things. It bothered me. And when I watched myself on The Hills, my ears would be sticking out like Dumbo! I just wanted to feel more confident and look in the mirror and be like, 'Whoa! That's me!' I was an ugly duckling before." (credit:Getty Images)

That's not what I look like right now." She added, "I think I still look like me." (credit:Getty Images)

In 2011, the "Glee" star told David Letterman that she'd had her nose done, after breaking it twice. Of the second fracture, she explained, "I couldn't get it fixed because we were in the middle of doing this concert tour and we were filming. We had a day off and I met up with some of my friends and we were dancing. And again, there was another collision of sorts -- I must be turning too quickly, people don't see me coming or something -- but it's fixed now!" (credit:Getty)

In 2006, the singer-songwriter told People, "Last year I had so many lines coming in at the side of my eyes up here. So I went in and got my eyes done, and I’m not happy about it. (The surgeon) is going to go in and fix that for me. They’re too tight around the eyelids for me. It drives me crazy. " (credit:Getty Images)

"I decided to make fun of this, to make my fiasco become my reality," she explained. "After all, it's not cancer, and it's absurd that just a nose job could wreak such havoc." (credit:Getty Images)

In May, Bynes took to Twitter to reveal: "Intouch used a photo from years ago on their cover and I hate it! The reason I've asked all magazines and blogs to stop using old photos of me is I don't look like that anymore! I had a nose job to remove skin that was like a webbing in between my eyes. I wasn't going to tell anyone, but I look so much prettier in my new photos that I don't want old photos used anymore! I'm so sick of magazines and blogs using old photos! When will they stop? I will never look like that again! Having surgery was the most amazing thing for my confidence!" (credit:AP)
